A salt scrub for silky skin
This natural scrub is fantastic for dry, rough skin.
Recipe: Salt scrub
1 cup sea salt
½ cup coconut, almond or other neutral vegetable oil
5 drops high quality essential oil (optional)
Clean wide mouth jar, with lid
If using coconut oil, depending on the climate, you may need to gently melt the oil until it liquefies.
In a big bowl mix the sea salt oil and essential oil. My favourite oils are lemon myrtle, sandalwood or lemon. Some people are sensitive to citrus or lavender oils, so if in doubt leave them out. Coconut oil has a pleasant scent if you want to skip the essential oils and want to keep things simple.
The resulting mixture should be a thick slurry. Add more salt if too runny.
How to use the salt body scrub
In the shower take a generous handful and gently scrub your skin. Avoid using around the eyes and other sensitive areas.
If you don’t have enough salt on hand, the scrub can also be made with brown sugar.
