You’ve been diagnosed with cancer. Now what? As someone who has lived through their own cancer experience, I know you’ll probably be in shock, scared and want to do everything you can to be well.
In this video I touch on the points in a cancer journey where I can support your care:
* Diagnosis/preparing for conventional treatment
* Recovering from cancer treatment
* Life after cancer – trauma, bioremediation (physiological recovery), living with fear of recurrence, embracing a healthy and balanced life.
Recovering from cancer treatment with experienced naturopathic support
Everyone feels differently when they’ve completed treatment. Some are elated, others are sad. (Post-chemo or radiotherapy is actually a thing). Recovering physically and emotionally takes time. Most naturopaths believe it takes around 18 – 24 months for the body to fully bounce back to the best of it’s ability. That’s a long time after post-treatment blood tests have normalised.
In my personal and professional experience we can help this process with a few well chosen herbs and nutrients, plus lifestyle support. What would suit your body best may depend on your specific cancer, type and extent of treatment. To get the most benefit, it’s important to start working with me as soon as possible after surgery, chemo or radiotherapy.
It was also a shock after completing treatment to realise my oncologist had no proactive strategy to try to improve my chances of remaining cancer-free, let alone recover from the negative effects of chemotherapy. All they offered was a three monthly blood test and check-up to see if the cancer returned.
As a naturopath and cancer survivor, I have your back. Read more about proactive cancer recovery.
