October update: changing momentum
Spring is here and the race to Christmas is on! It really feels like work and life have shifted a gear, with an increasing momentum ’til the end of the year.
If previous years are anything to go by, October is the month to up your health game in preparation for the festive season. Make the most of meals at home to eat as wholesomely as possible, take a break from alcohol whenever you’re able and enjoy the quiet moments while they last.
Mentoring news
October began with a bang, launching Rest, Revitalise & Inspire 2018. We’ve had a fantastic response to our second practitioner retreat in Bali, in fact, we’ve now only got room for a couple more participants! If you’re a health practitioner who needs some self-care, inspiration, or are ready to tackle a new phase in your business – don’t miss this amazing opportunity.
A healthy gut means a happy microbiome
While spending time with some friends during my last visit to Melbourne, a colleague shared a challenge. Eating forty or more different plant foods a week is a proven way to rebalance your gut flora. I’ve got some hacks to make this as easy as possible. If you’re confused about what the microbiome is or up for a challenge, read more.
One way to add more gut friendly foods to your diet is with salads that form a complete meal. I love a one bowl wonders and have added an Asian inspired slaw, packed with fresh vegetables and aromatic herbs. It’s a simple and very adaptable recipe for the warmer weather. There are many more plant-food based recipes in the archive.
Remedies near and far
As spring is here, I’ve stocked up on organic elder flower tea which forms part of my simple but effective strategies to manage hayfever. My dispensary is growing, including liquid herbs and tea blends, and I’m looking into remedy postage and packing options for clients who aren’t in Sydney that would like them.
Let’s keep in touch
I’ve really enjoyed my return to Instagram, and continue to share interesting health-related items on my Facebook page. My monthly newsletter continues to provide a handy digest and update. As always, I’m here to make your life easier by helping you get on top of your health. I work with people in person in Sydney, Melbourne (please let me know if you’d like to be notified of my next visit) and online around the country and the world.
