December update and a big thank you
I blinked and suddenly it was December! Does it feel like that for you too?
Over the years I’ve shared strategies to make the festive season less stressful. Some revolve around triaging inessential deadlines, transforming ‘must catch up before Christmas’ requests into leisurely January picnics and accepting that there are some obligations where the only thing I can change is my attitude.
After a busy year, I’ve put these strategies into action, dedicating December to naturopathic and mentoring consultations, working one-on-one with clients. This is the work I love doing.
This year has been studded with conferences, presentations, workshops and a retreat. While these collaborations have been invigorating, with lots of travel near and far, I’ve treasured spending more time at home, in the clinic and garden.
In the kitchen
I’ve been fermenting wild sodas like there’s no tomorrow! The best so far was made from pineapple skins and ginger. There was one failure to fizz, as it used only herbs and no fruit. The natural sugar in fruit certainly kicks along the fermentation. But no problem if this happens to you, it tasted delicious frozen into ice blocks or drunk with a dash of soda.
While you’re in the kitchen, take a look at what’s in season in December and my star seasonal recipe for dolmades, that don’t have to be made with vine leaves.
Holiday dates
Just a reminder the clinic will be closed from 20 December to 7 January. There are a couple of appointments left this month. If you need some help, you need to be quick and book online.
If you’re after a healthy present, gift vouchers are available to purchase on the site any day of the year.
Thank you!
I’d like to thank you for your support this year. I love the emails I get in response the newsletter and articles; from readers I’m yet to meet, old clients, colleagues and RRR listeners just taking a minute to say hello. I really appreciate your feedback and updates.
I hope you have the best festive season possible.
