Mentoring special: talking with Sue Evans about ethics and culture
Update October 2021: But wait there’s more! Scroll down for the third video in the series.
It’s been a delight to record a couple of my recent conversations about plants, ethics, culture and herbal stories with my herbal mentor and friend Sue Evans (Dr Susannah Evans).
Through lockdown we’ve been chatting regularly, inevitably about herbs and politics. These discussions are too good not to share, covering ethical issues for contemporary herbalists and naturopaths.
Herbal ethics
Do you know where your herbs are from, how they’re grown and the supply chain that ultimately ends with your client’s prescription? What small things can you do to be a more sustainable and ethical herbalist/naturopath?
Herbal culture, stories and colonisation
“Get to know the earth…and how generous plants are”. Using the herbs of our culture, learning from the stories and a step towards decolonizing the western herbal material medical.
Sharing our herbal knowledge
You’re a qualified herbalist, what other ways than traditional consulting can you share your knowledge? Plus some gems from the NIMH 2021 conference.
Would you like to watch more interviews?
Do you have any questions for Sue? We’re happy to record more.
Or if you have any other video requests, leave me a comment.
