January update
A new year always seems full of possibilities. Last year I swapped resolutions for a single word that embodied my intentions. My choice to ‘adapt’, make life easier by changing my behaviour, was such a success that I couldn’t wait to find my word for 2016. This year my challenge is ‘delight’. Each day I look for a moment, however ordinary, to fully enjoy a sensation or interaction. Merely thinking the word gives me a little shiver of delight!
While health goals are usually high on the list of resolutions, they’re often doomed to fail before the month is out. Frequently this is due to a planning fallacy or the aptly named “what the hell effect“. A recent survey of thousands of Australian women identified what they believe are our greatest barriers to healthy living. Top of the list is neither knowledge or money, but finding the time and motivation to live better. For those who think they don’t have time to eat better or exercise more (let alone meditate or enjoy a long soak in the bath), you’ll be surprised at some of the painless ways you can create an extra day in your week to enjoy greater wellbeing.
If you’re feeling too overwhelmed or tired to contemplate making a change – a one-off Wellbeing Plan is the perfect way to kickstart a healthier and happier year. This tailor-made, down-to-earth plan will save precious time and money, as it’s uniquely devised just for you.
I hope you have a very happy and healthy year,
Gill
