March update
Welcome to autumn
I love this time of year when the sun loses its sting but daylight still lingers through dinner. I celebrated the arrival of autumn in Melbourne this month. Right on cue, the temperature dropped and sky began drizzling! I really enjoy reconnecting with clients face to face in my old home town. Please let me know if you’d like to be notified of future Melbourne sessions.
Autumn is also when I replenish my tiny garden plot and plant a new crop of vegetables. However, it will be a few months before all the digging, weeding and composting pays off. Without putting time and effort into preparing the soil, the plants won’t thrive. Just like us, they need a healthy microbiome, good nutrition and a little TLC. Have you ever noticed how gardening is a lot like caring for our body?
It’s been a great growing season for my culinary and medicinal herbs. I’m enjoying making coconut sambols with excess mint, basil and coriander, if you’ve got some leftover herbs give this simple side dish a go.
Also new to the site this month is a food inspo update. There are lots of ideas for making the most of the produce that is in season at the moment in Australia. If you need more ideas on what to cook, there are over a hundred original and simple recipes in the resources section.
Don’t forget, if you’re a health professional, applications for the retreat in Bali I’m running with Charmaine are closing on 26 March. If you’ve been thinking about joining us, this is your last chance. Our current retreat (May/June) is almost booked out, but we can’t guarantee that we will run the same program in the future.
If you find yourself struggling in autumn, there are resources online for your immune system, mojo and . If you need more help, let’s work together – either over a cup of herbal tea in my Sydney clinic or online.
