July update: how are you coping with winter
Just after the winter solstice I embarked on an extraordinary journey to the Marquesas Islands, one of the most remote island groups in the world. It was a privilege to visit this part of the Pacific and be immersed in Polynesian culture.

Arriving back to midwinter in it’s full glory was a challenge. Love it or hate it, the weather can have a powerful impact on our moods and behaviour. If you’re struggling physically or emotionally at this time of year, these seasonal remedies, reflections and research can make things easier.
There’s nothing like warm, hearty food on a cold night. Other than soups and roasts, another great way to enjoy winter vegetables is mashed. Beyond mashed potatoes, there are equally satisfying and more healthful options. Recently added to the recipe archive are some of my favourite mash combinations.
While researching my recent series on menopause, I was struck by the scarcity of positive stories on the subject. A recurrent theme across the media is that menopause is hell and that pharmaceutical drugs are the only answer. So is a natural menopause possible? To complete the series, I’ve road tested my favourite remedies and chosen to share my own menopause story. It’s been an interesting time!
